Houhin Teapot
A small hand crafted ceramic Japanese teapot with no handle. The houhin, meaning “treasure cup”, is mostly used in Japan to brew Gyokuro or high quality Sencha.
Part of our unique range of teaware designed in collaboration with master potter Sawa Houzan, this houhin is made in a shiboridashi-style design with a distinctive spout feature added for individuality. It is the perfect size for one person, or to share between two people in small cups.
Master potter Sawa Houzan took the name of his father when he inherited his kiln, continuing his tradition of creating beautiful ceramics. Together with his son in his hometown of Shigaraki, he makes beautiful pieces skilfully crafted and uniquely designed, and appreciated by many throughout Japan.
