A micro sized hand crafted ceramic Japanese teapot, to complete a set with a cooler and a tiny cup. The houhin, meaning “treasure cup”, is mostly used in Japan to brew gyokuro or high quality sencha.

Part of our unique range of teaware designed in collaboration with potter Sawa Houzan, this houhin is a made in a shiboridashi-style design, with slits carved near the spout acting as a strainer. It is the perfect size for one person or two people to share. It is easy to clean, and has a slightly cracked appearance inside due to the style of firing in the kiln. Cups are available to order individually. 

Master potter Sawa Houzan took the name of his father when he inherited his kiln, continuing his tradition of creating beautiful ceramics. Together with his son in his hometown of Shigaraki, he makes beautiful pieces skilfully crafted and uniquely designed, and appreciated by many throughout Japan.
