Kyusu Teapot
A handcrafted ceramic kyusu made in Shigaraki, a town in Japan famous for fine pottery.
Custom designed for us by potter Sawa Houzan, this teapot is based on a Shiboridashi design with slits carved near the spout to act as a strainer, with an added side handle for ease of pouring. Made with great attention to detail, it is functional and robust for everyday use and is simple to clean.
Master potter Sawa Houzan took the name of his father when he inherited his kiln, continuing his tradition of creating beautiful ceramics. Together with his son in his hometown of Shigaraki, he makes beautiful pieces skilfully crafted and uniquely designed, and appreciated by many throughout Japan.
