A hand made square tea coaster ideal for a medium sized cup or a small teapot.

Yijia Yang employs intricate weaving techniques to create tea coasters for My Cup of Tea, using the bark of the Papyrus plant, historically the oldest paper type adapted for writing pads in ancient Egypt. The woody texture and pattern of the paper is formed into a beautiful cross work and will gradually age well with the contact of heat and tea the more you use. Backing is finished with various types of handmade paper.

Yijia mainly works with letterpress
 for publications with an extensive knowledge in paper. With her personal interests in literature and tea, she also makes personable objects for tea brewing with unusual papers that bring forth forgotten stories of their origins.
